NOT A MUSICIAN
I think music is magic.

As a visual artist and performer, I know what it is to be swept up in the moment while others watch. I know what it is to be the magic in that way. I play ukulele (bastion for the musically inept) & I have glimpsed the tiniest piece of the magic that is the continuum of music.

​I revere music and its influence on my process. I can paint & I can juggle, but without music I have no moments of stillness, no rests, & no rhythm.  Music grants me those things like a gift and what I listen to while I paint has a definitive & profound impact on the final aesthetic of the piece. Music directly inspires that dance that is painting. Installation/Music is - in part - my tribute to music & to those artists who have profoundly affected me.

THE GIG
  • The performance dates are August 3 to August 12.  You needn’t come for the whole week, but you are welcome from the first brushstroke to the special reception.
  • Sessions are in the afternoon and in the evening. It is a small space, intimate, and there is a tower room with a domed ceiling that has the most unbelievably strange acoustics just off the gallery.  
  • Every session will have a TOPIC that is the focus of the art and the conversation.  This is more than a performance, it is a collaboration.   
  • This is also a Tribute to Bowie & it is a tribute to all the music that has inspired and the continuum of music. Your move.
  • The performance will be live-streamed to the world and recorded for the INSTALLATION | Music film project

A song can touch you even if you do not understand the words, a painting can move you even if you've not any knowledge of its context, and live performance connects us, person to person in this moment and video allows us to capture & create of those moments.  

THE PERKS
  • Schedule a Limited SRO Tickets-Only night playing in the gallery with me painting live thru the show. It is one of the most unique things your fans will ever get to experience.   Alternately, The Bundy has an Annex with more audience capacity for an evening show.
  • Good local food, breweries, & coffee houses. (some of which will be sending over food)
  • Filmmakers to capture & make their magic happen from the performances and event.
  • Live-stream (specifics and times to be decided but it will definitely be a thing)
  • Invitation to the DENOUMENT August 12
  • A piece of the finished painting


THE PAY
  • $500 - $1000, deposit on June 1. 
  • Meals on the day of your performance
  • Simple lodgings or space to camp at my barn/home/studio in Triangle NY (20 min NE of Binghamton)

  • Production Manager 
To help keep things organized as sponsors, musicians, staff, and artists confirm their commitment, manage scheduling, and take over the production aspect August 1 through the performance dates.  This is a paid position. 


  • Outreach/ Marketing Manager 
To promote the event locally & regionally and to promote the webcasts internationally., help communicate with the sponsors, and  line up publicity appearances. This is a paid position.
